
Pastor Robert E. Gay Jr.
Pastor
Robert E. Gay, Jr. was born on August 23, 1981 to Robert E. Gay, Sr. and Rhonda Whiting, in Hopewell, Virginia. He is the second child of four children; siblings, Derrick, Shannon, and Clayton. Robert credits his father for his love and passion for sports. As a young child, he would excel in sports such as baseball, basketball, and football.
Upon graduating from Sussex County High School in 1999, Robert continued his education at Virginia State University and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. During his Senior year at Virginia State, Robert was called to Active duty during Operational Iraqi Freedom in 2004. He was deployed for 14 months and served in the Military for 14 years. In 2014, Sergeant Robert Gay, Jr. was medically discharged from the Military. March 2020, he graduated from Liberty University with his master's degree in License Professional Counseling and is currently in his Residency as a License Professional Counselor (LPC-R).
On December 25, 2000, Mr. Gay would purpose to his beautiful college sweetheart, Javitta Wiley and on May 2, 2003, the couple would be joined together as husband and wife. To this Union, three children were born Janae, NaVay, and Robert, III.
Robert Gay, Jr. is the Founder and CEO of Holistie Therapeutic Services, LLC., located in Chesterfield, Virginia and established 2008. He is co-owner of Foundation Medical LLC, Shaping up our Future Child Development, KC Trucking, and Founder of Relevant Faith Ministries. He is also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Ine and enjoys coaching youth basketball, baseball, and football. His hobbies include, playing golf, cooking, consulting business venture and traveling.
Mr. Gay became a member of Spirit of Life Church of God in Christ in 2000, under the leadership of his father-in law, the Late Pastor Novey W. Wiley, Sr. In 2004, he accepted his calling to the Ministry during his 14-month deployment. Six years later, he became an ordained Minister at Spirit of Life Church of God in Christ and then a licensed Elder where he served as Co-Pastor, Youth Leader, and a member on the Board of Trustees. A very supportive and encouraging Man of God, who stood alongside his Pastor and First Lady, for over 21 years.
On July 12, 2020, Elder Robert E. Gay, Jr. and Mrs. Javitta Wiley Gay were appointed the Interim Pastor and First Lady of Spirit of Life Church of God in Christ. On July 26, 2020, Interim Pastor and Mrs. Gay were officially appointed Pastor and First Lady of Spirit of Life Church of God in Christ. On November 21, 2020, Pastor and First Lady Gay were installed as the new Pastor and First Lady, by our Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Wilbert L. Daniels, Sr.
Since being appointed as the new leaders, Pastor and Lady Gay decided to continue the vision of Pastor Novey W. Wiley, Sr., by changing the name of the church, Spirit of Life Church of God in Christ, to New Flame Church of God in Christ. Together, they have made renovations and upgrades to the building during the quarantine season. Pastor and Lady Gay also wanted to continue to serve the community by organizing a "Back to School" Supply Drive, Coats and Toys Drive, and Shoe and Sneaker Drive. Under their leadership, the church's dining hall was renamed to the N. G. Wiley Banquet Hall in honor and dedication of the Late Pastor Novey W. Wiley, Sr. and District Missionary Geraldine A. Wiley for their 28 years of service.
Pastor Gay believes in living for Christ and obeying God's Word. He loves helping people that are in need and being an example and a witness for Jesus Christ. His favorite scripture is "remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth," Ecclesiastes 12:1. His mission and purpose in life is to spread the love of Jesus and to win souls to the Kingdom by being relatable to every person he encounters.
